CyberM8 is thrilled to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD). This partnership marks a significant step towards equipping South Africa’s youth with essential digital and cybersecurity skills to thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
The collaboration aims to bridge the digital skills gap by implementing programmes that promote online and offline cybersecurity awareness, capacity-building workshops, and ongoing mentorship. Through this partnership, CyberM8 and DWYPD will empower disadvantaged youth to seize opportunities in the digital economy, fostering job creation and entrepreneurship in the cybersecurity sector.
“This partnership with DWYPD reflects our shared vision of empowering youth with critical skills for the digital age. By combining resources and expertise, we can address the digital divide and open doors for young South Africans to lead in cybersecurity and entrepreneurship. Together, we are building a future-ready generation.” – Thabang Phala, Chief Empowerment Officer, CyberM8
Together, the organisations will also focus on hosting hackathons and summits, developing cybersecurity toolkits, and providing tailored training for women, youth, and persons with disabilities. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to ensuring that South Africa’s youth are not left behind in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
